Positive Thinking ...

Thinking and Talking with a Positive Mindset!

"Most folks are about as happy as they
make up their minds to be."

Abraham Lincoln

Words are a powerful tool that we have at our disposal every waking moment.  We can create a strong mindset by consistently thinking positive thoughts.  Create the habits by replacing words and thoughts:

Instead of Using:

Use:
must... prefer...
should... it is desirable...
have to... choose to...
need... want...
can't choose not to...
never... rarely...
all... many...
always... often...
can't stand... don't like...
awful... highly undesirable...
bad person... bad behavior...

Think Positively?  WHY?

All of our feelings, beliefs and knowledge emanate from our internal thoughts.  We think on a conscious and a subconscious level. We ARE in control. Sometimes we just think we are not!

We can be positive or negative, enthusiastic or dull, active or passive.  We can choose to fly high or lay low.

The biggest difference between all people is their attitudes. For some, all activities and outlooks are enjoyable and exciting.  For others, almost everything is a drudgery.

Our attitudes are maintained by the inner conversations we constantly have with ourselves, both consciously and subconsciously.

The first step in changing our attitudes is to change our inner conversations.   Think about the company that you keep Negativity can bring you down. Always remember that a positive attitude and outlook is infectious.  Never be afraid to share it!  A positive attitude does require strength and should be constant!

Here are some helpful hints to positive thinking:

The Five ‘C’s of a Positive Attitude

Commitment
Make a positive internal commitment to yourself, family, friends, to constant learning, work, nature, and other worthwhile causes. Praise yourself and others often.  Reward yourself!  Dream of success.  Live your dreams.  Be enthusiastic.

Control
Keep your mind focused on important and worthy things. Set goals for the future. Set goals and priorities for what you think and do. Visualize actions for practice.  Keep positive images at hand to call on whenever needed.  Develop a strategy for dealing with problems.  Learn to relax. Enjoy successes. Be honest with yourself and with others.  Be in the habit of eating well and keeping a healthy physiology – stand tall, chin up and smile!

Challenge
Be courageous and strong. Change and improve each day. Do your best at all times.  Always look forward and don't look back. See learning and change as opportunities. Try new things. Read!  Build your positive vocabulary.  Keep track of your mental and physical health. Be optimistic.

Constant

Create a habit of your positive thoughts and outlook!  The positive attitude will become second nature and intuitively be there for you at all times.  Add music to your life.  Again…  Be in the habit of eating well and keeping a healthy physiology – stand tall, chin up and smile!

Character

Be honest and trustworthy.  Have good values.  Never compromise your values.  Verbalize and share your good values.  Be a good friend, wife, husband and family member.  Be loyal!

Studies show that people with these characteristics are winners in good times and survivors in hard times.
